CCKC Annual General Meeting 2020

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election of Office Bearers for 2020 will be held at the Walter Crow Pavilion, Cairns Show Grounds, Quigley St, Cairns on Saturday 1st February 2020 commencing at 6:00 p.m with a BBQ followed by the AGM commencing at 7:00 pm. CCKC Obedience Section End of Year Trophies

For the information of CCKC members. It’s that time of the year again when members need to submit their results to be in the running for the Cairns City Kennel Club (Obedience Section) end of year perpetual trophies. Results can be submitted in any format as long as it is clear and includes the owner’s name and the dog’s full name including titles as per the registration. K9 Scent Games is a new fun activity that is taking the dog world by storm. Your dog will learn to find and indicate specific given scents using his amazing nose. Preventing Dog-related Injuries

In 2017 Australian Institute of Health and Welfare reviewed data on hospitalisations caused by dog bites. The data identified children aged under 10 as having the highest rate of injury caused by dog bites. In children, bites mostly occur to the head. More than 70% of dog bites occur at home. This clever video looks a dog bites from the child’s and the dog’s different view points. 2019 Cairns Ag Show

The Cairns Show, on Friday 19 July, comes with some unique challenges because of the high number of spectators.  All exhibitors are reminded of the following special arrangements for this day. General matters: Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas. No alcohol. The show grounds are a licensed venue and alcohol can only be consumed at the licensed bars. Judging will be suspended from 12pm to 1pm for the agility demonstration. Numbers and pass out stamps will be issued on entry. Please do not enter the assembly area until the previous group has vacated and your group is called. There is ample time between groups. Dogs are not permitted in the club house or canteen at any time. Trolley space and gazebos: So that the general public and exhibitors have ample room to move around the grounds on the day, there are restrictions on trolley parking and where gazebos
