2019 Cairns Ag Show

The Cairns Show, on Friday 19 July, comes with some unique challenges because of the high number of spectators.  All exhibitors are reminded of the following special arrangements for this day. General matters: Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas. No alcohol. The show grounds are a licensed venue and alcohol can only be consumed at the licensed bars. Judging will be suspended from 12pm to 1pm for the agility demonstration. Numbers and pass out stamps will be issued on entry. Please do not enter the assembly area until the previous group has vacated and your group is called. There is ample time between groups. Dogs are not permitted in the club house or canteen at any time. Trolley space and gazebos: So that the general public and exhibitors have ample room to move around the grounds on the day, there are restrictions on trolley parking and where gazebos

Trivia Night – fundraiser for Townsville flood relief fund

Many of our canine community were affected by the recent flooding in Townsville.  As a show of support, the CCKC will be hosting a Trivia Night to raise funds for the Dogs Queensland Townsville flood relief fund. Great prizes available. When: Saturday, 2 March 2019, at 6:30pm Where: CCKC Club House, Quigley St, Cairns Cost: $20 per person including supper. CCKC Annual General Meeting

A reminder to members of the Cairns City Kennel Club Inc that the 2019 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, 2 February 2019 at the club grounds on Quigley Street, Cairns. Black Dog Institute Fundraising

Over the next 10 months members will regularly see Katy at the Cairns City Kennel Club selling her home made dog treats. She’s now a regular at Tuesday night training with dogs coming back each week wanting more. Katy and her friend Sue are raising money for the Black Dog Institute. The Black Dog Institute’s mission is to enable mentally healthier lives through innovations in science, medicine, education, public policy and knowledge translation.  For further information go to the Black Dog Institute website. Katy and Sue will be participating the Hike for Mental Health; a 5 day trek exploring the Great Wall of China in September 2019.
