A COVID Safe dog show is new to many of us. These are some of the more frequently asked questions.
Arrival and departure
Where can I park my car and trailer?
Parking is only permitted on Quigley St. Access to the grounds via Scott St is only permitted for campers.
What time do the gates open?
The gates open 2 hours prior to the start of the show. You can arrive any time after 4:00 pm, closer to the time judging commences for your group if that suits you. You will still be required to check-in on arrival.
Can I leave early if I‘m not eligible to compete in General Specials?
Yes. If there is no need for you to stay for General Specials, you may leave early if that suits.
Gazebos
Where can I set up my gazebo?
There will be marked ‘gazebo zones’ around the ring. There is ample space for up to 36 (3m x3m) gazebos within the grounds and space for another 33 in the Gazebo Overflow area.
Can I leave my gazebo up for the weekend?
Yes, you can leave you gazebo up each night. Please make sure it is secured just in case there is a storm. The grounds will be unattended during the day, therefore any items left under your gazebo are left at your own risk. The club will not be responsible for any items left on the grounds.

Why is football easier?
The directions and guidelines for COVID safety are long and complex. Sometimes external factors far out of our influence and control mean that there are perceived differences in what is expected at different venues, activities and events.
The Cairns City Kennel Club is fully focused on maintaining and promoting a safe environment for our members and visitors. We have a duty of care to ensure our events are run to the highest possible level of COVID safety. We acknowledge that some of the requirements may appear to be inconvenient, but safety comes first in these circumstances.
Your understanding and patience are greatly appreciated.
