The Cairns City Kennel Club Inc is run by a team of dedicated volunteers all of whom share their personal expertise to ensure the effective leadership and management of the club.

Election of all office bearers and committee members occurs at the Club’s Annual General Meeting held on the last Saturday of January each year. The Committee members for 2025 are listed below.

Management Committee

The Management Committee is responsible for the general control and management of club. This leadership team and maintains the integrity and good standing of the club and ensures club activities align with the club’s Rules of Association, values, vision and mission statements.

Always acting in the best interest of the club and all members, the Management Committee looks at the big picture, and discussions at meetings include, but not limited to, planning, risk, maintenance, financial management, publicity, compliance, safety, grants, and stakeholder engagement.

The Management Committee receives reports and updates from all sub-committees and has a duty to ensure these sub-committees function to the highest standards.

Members of the Management Committee are ambassadors for the club and all its members. Although a member of the committee may have an interest in a specific discipline or club activity, decisions are always made in the best interests of the entire club and all members.

The Management Committee has reporting responsibilities to Dogs Queensland and the Office of Fair Trading.

Dog Show Committee

The Dog Show Sub-committee is responsible for the day to day running of dog show related activities including conformation dog shows. Key fundraising activities include Wednesday night show handling classes and Bunnings Sausage Sizzles.

The Dog Show Sub-committee reports to the Management Committee.

Dog Sports Committee

The Dog Sports Sub-committee is responsible for the day to day running of dog sports related activities including dog sports trials. Key fundraising activities include Tuesday night dog training classes and regular dog sports training classes. Dog sports activities include Agility, Flyball, Obedience, Rally Scent Works and Tricks.

The Dog Sports Sub-committee reports to the Management Committee.
